Dan
Jenkins was born in Yorkshire in 1966 and went to the
Guildhall School of Music in 1984. He spent 6 years
travelling around Britain with the D'Oyly Carte Opera
Company and since then he has been a freelance trombonist
in London, travelling all over the world with various
orchestras and ensembles. In 2004 he was
appointed Principal Trombone of the City of London
Sinfonia and in 2005 joined the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
He has written extensively for brass and has recently been
commissioned to write a trumpet concerto. His hobbies
include good food, good wine and bad waistcoats. He is
married and lives in North London.
