Karen
Evans was born at an early age in London. She reluctantly
learned to play the violin while harbouring a secret desire
to take up the flute. The violin eventually became the
centre piece(s) of her Art A Level after a rather
unfortunate accident! The flute fared better and Karen
completed a degree at Bangor University where William
Mathias kept a keen eye on her progress.
Since then Karen has taught the flute at many top
educational establishments including Wells Cathedral
School, the Welsh College of Music and Drama and currently
at the Royal Marines School of Music, Portsmouth.
In 1998 Karen completed her MA specializing in music
psychology although the concept of left and right remains a
mystery to her. Her hobbies include sailing, walking,
finding her way back and playing the double bass.
Her music is published by Spartan Press which can be
visited here.
